Metal mirrors are used in applications where absorption loss can be tolerated or where a high degree of angular tolerance is required. Our Aluminium and Silver coatings can be used in a variety of applications and are available with enhanced reflectance by the use of dielectric layers.

Metal based mirrors suffer from considerable absorption loss, although for many simple systems this is not a problem. For systems using high powers or multiple reflections, however, the absorption loss of metal layers cannot be tolerated. Dielectric quarter-wave stacks provide the solution. We can offer quarter-wave stacks centred on customer-specified wavelengths.
