After twenty three years at its Burton Road premises, thin film coatings specialist Siltint has moved to new purpose designed premises just three miles away in Longley Lane, Manchester. The 11,000 sq ft facility is conveniently located less than a mile from the M56 motorway.
The move is being made to accommodate increased order volumes in both the precision optical and ophthalmic markets. “We have been looking for new premises for some time,” says Managing Director, Gerry Biggs, “and the Longley Lane site is ideally suited to our needs in terms of size and location. We have undertaken a complete programme of refurbishment and customisation, including the installation of dedicated clean rooms for our fast-turnaround coating, lens supply, and diamond turning facilities.
“Everyone has worked very hard to make the move possible and to ensure it went as smoothly as possible, with no disruption to customer service. Indeed, we will now be able to provide even higher levels of customer service from our bigger, better home.”
